St John's Family & Friends

Family and Friends is the school's PTA. We raise money for St John's and we do it by running events that are as much geared to fun as to fundraising. Since we formed in 2007, we have raised tens of thousands of pounds through events as diverse as quiz nights, concerts, indulgence days and a summer ball - occasions at which families can meet and have a good time. Our catering team is regularly on hand at parents' evenings and other school happenings, serving a refreshing cuppa and delicious homemade cakes.

Every parent or guardian, member of staff and governor is automatically a member of Family and Friends. Stars 'n' Stripes on the Hill

The sounds of the USA wafted out from the Theatre on the Hill as the Swindon Concert Band played music by Bernstein, Gershwin and many other favourites from "across the pond" as part of an Independence Day concert on Sunday July 4th. Organised by the Family and Friends, the concert proved a hit with young and old, many of whom were visiting the school for the first time.
It was the Swindon Concert Band's second appearance at St John's and, judging by the audience reaction, it will not be their last. Many thanks to the band, and to principal organisers Janice Pattison and Kath Pocock for a memorable musical evening.

The next Family and Friends event will be on Sunday September 5th, when we will be running a tombola as part of Marlborough Carnival Day. See you there!
